WAR: World First Karl Franz Kill, The Emperor Is Slain!

On Sunday, Karak Eight Peaks, the Third Realm alliance (comprised of the guilds Fracture, XXI Grams, Bloodline, Eclipse team, Legio Sicarius, Shorties) managed to deliver the final blow to the Empire for the first time in the world. They brought down Emperor Karl Franz, sending him to a cage in the Inevitable City

According to reports, it was a narrow victory: only 2 minutes before the 1-hour countdown timer was over did they manage to clear both pq's (Bright Wizard College pq and Grand Theogonist Volkmar). The whole event supposedly took more than 14 hours.
Congratulations are in order for winning what couldn't have been an easy fight. To merely gain access to Karl Franz, not only do Destruction players have to open up and defeat the player defenders of Altdorf, they also have to defeat the Grand Theogonist Volkmar and the Supreme Patriarch Thyrus Gormann of the Bright Wizard College. Only then do they gain access to the Imperial Palace, where the currently hardest PvE encounter in Warhammer Online takes place.

On Sunday, April 5th, history was made. A stalwart gathering of skilled Destruction players on the European Karak Eight Peaks server carved a bloody path through every Tier 4 zone, successfully locked them down, and stormed Altdorf all the way to the palace. Their epic battle with Karl Franz ended in victory, making it the very first King defeat in the history of WAR!
We'd like to congratulate the players of Karak Eight Peaks and commend the victors on their efforts! The guilds who led this historical event were Bloodline, Eclipse Team, Fracture, Legio Sicarius, Shorties, and XXI Grams. Congratulations to you all! PETA Takes The Fight Against Seal Slaughter To WoW

In an effort to counter the virtual slaughter of baby seals in World of Warcraft, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is holding an event on Saturday that will pit their supporters against "four Horde seal killers." A call to arms was placed on PETA's official blog , asking people to take part in a fight against four Horde miscreants that apparently, kill seals for their luxurious fur.

"Thrall refused to ban the slaughter of seals, despite multiple requests from the Alliance to do so, because Orgrimmar stands to make a large profit from the fur," reads the posting. "Activists from across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are banding together to put a stop to the atrocious seal slaughter. Anyone who slaughters baby seals for their fur must surely be in service to the evil Lich King."
Here's what you need to know in order to battle: You must be in the WhisperWind realm in order to fight. Visit WorldofWarcraft.com if you need information about how to switch into this realm. Once in the WhisperWind realm, go to Northrend, where you will find a zone called Howling Fjord, where the baby seals live on glaciers and boats float in the fjords. This will be the battleground to stop the slaughter. (Note: You must be at least a Level 70 player in order to enter Howling Fjord.) The battle will take place on Saturday, April 11, at 1 p.m. EST.
So...if you're hot for some animal activism on a snowy plain, just head on down to Howling Fjord (WhisperWind realm) on Saturday April 11, at 1 P.M. (Eastern). Look for the baby seals and the (presumably) throbbing mass of angry people crowding them.

WOW Death Knight Builds and how to play a Death Knight.

As you all know, Wrath of the Litch King(WotLK) expansion for World of Warcraft(WOW) and the new Death Knight class is now active.
This class is a damage dealer / tank hybrid.
The Death Knight class starts at level 55 and they unlockable if you have level 55+ character on that realm.
You can only have one Death Knight per server.
WOW Death Knights do not have shields but do have good avoidance and powerful anti magic protection that have them being used as the main tanks against magic attack based bosses in raids.
Don't think that because they are not able to use a shield that they will not make effective tanks as they do make good tanks if geared, spec'd and played correctly.
WOW Death Knights can dual wield or use 2-handed weapons.
They use a unique rune system for their special skills so playing a Death Knight you will find you will be commonly be using combo rotations to maximize damage and agro.
Also death knights gain runic power when using spells that use runs and this runic power can be used to cast spells such as death coil or Frost Strike.
Death Knight talents are split into 3 different trees: Blood: Talents in this tree focus on weapons, armor, healing, and strikes. A great tree to use initialy for leveling because of healing/damage. Frost: Talents in this tree focus on armor, control, counters, and combos.
Considered to be one of stongest trees for tanking but all trees can be used to tank.
Unholy: Talents in this tree focus on spells, summons, diseases, and AOE. One of the highest damage dealing trees and allows for a perma-ghoul pet.
